Shipping production AI workflows with n8n

How I structure agentic content pipelines with RAG steps, branching logic, and reliable publishing targets.

Building content systems that teams can actually run means treating automation like product software—not a fragile script.

Start from the operator's day

Before adding LLM nodes, map the real loop: pick a topic, gather context, draft, review, publish. Each step becomes a branch you can inspect when something fails.

Ground generation with RAG

Pull context from Sheets, Docs, or a knowledge store first. Generation quality jumps when the model is fed current, structured inputs instead of guessing from a prompt alone.

Make failures recoverable

Prefer clear branches and validation checks over one giant linear flow. If Medium or LinkedIn rejects a post, you want to re-run from the publish stage—not regenerate the whole piece.

Ship, then tighten

Start with a working path end-to-end. Then trim latency, add retries, and document how teammates should trigger and debug runs.
